It's a Parador so you expect a certain standard, and it didn't disappoint. A large room with a good-sized balcony overlooking the garden and pool with views into open countryside (if you ignore the industrial complex in the foreground!), staff were very friendly and keen to practice their English on us, which was fortunate as our shame our Spanish is 'adequate but limited'. A short walk into town where there are ample bars but, as we discovered, a limited number of places to eat, at least on the night we were there. Breakfast is a comprehensive buffet - not cheap but limited options locally made it the best option for onward travel. Furnishings and general decor are dark and in keeping with the building, the tower is a beautiful sight from the interior. Large comfortable bed, linen and towels to a standard you would expect, parking for our motorcycle right outside the entrance - no garage but felt secure. For what we paid very good value for a Parador. If we were passing that way again and a similar deal was on offer we wouldn't hesitate to return.

We loved our stay at this Parador. It is not a fancy place, it feels welcoming and comfortable. The staff were open, helpful and kind. The room was large with a balcony and there was a pleasant pool to dip in. We got 2 meals with our reservation and we're happy that we did. Breakfast was very good, and dinner was a highlight. The chefs outdid themselves. We ordered the "traditional dinner" which was a multi-course feast with local cheeses and smoked beef, soup, croquettes and then the most delicious and perfectly cooked lamb! It was all followed by an excellent dessert and included a bottle of local wine. Wow! I would recommend this parador to anyone travelling in the area.

The old built is fantastic and in front of it are beautiful public gardens. Our room was spacious & on the ground floor with a small veranda with two chairs and a table. The pool & sun loungers we’re right in front of us. The receptionist showed us a beautiful room with magnificent ceiling that is in the oldest part of this old castle and is used for weddings & other occasions. I have a walking disability and the Accessible room and bathroom were excellent - unlike many hotels. Parking was available on first come first served in the space surrounding the Paradore.

Lovely atmosphere. It's a smaller cosier parador than we have stayed in before. We had the superior room which was very comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous with a terrace by the pool. What was good about the location is its a five minutes flat walk to nearby bars and restaurants so you are not tied to the hotel restaurant. We would definitely return here if we found ourselves in the area

Beverly

we had a lovely room overlooking the town. the hotel is beautifully sited high on a spur. the walk to. the town was much easier than we anticipated. There are historic buildings of interest in the town, sometimes obscured by dilapidation - there are clear signs of poverty, but the town is lively, many locals using the cafes and shops. a very safe environment.
